Sara Keith, LPC-MHSP (t)
Hi there! Welcome to my little corner of our website, you can call me Sara Keith! I believe counseling can be a precious gift, and through my own ongoing counseling journey, I also recognize the courage it takes to even begin the process of choosing a counselor. Just know, I’d consider it such an honor to be invited into your life.
After graduating from Harding University with my Educational Specialist and Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I’ve been working with clients in a variety of settings over the past several years. In addition to outpatient clinics and private practice settings, I’ve also spent time working in school and university settings. I have a passion for working with teens, young adults, and women who are facing grief, anxiety, depression, difficulty adjusting to life’s circumstances, or struggling to feel like “themselves”.
My approach to therapy tends to draw from cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, attachment, and trauma-informed therapies. I have specialized training in a developmental and relational trauma model (HOCI - Healing Our Core Issues). During the counseling process, I seek to help clients find and heal parts of themselves that have gotten wounded and left behind. We do this by engaging the whole person - body, mind, heart, and spirit. Among other approaches, I often utilize reparenting and experiential techniques, somatic exercises, and mindfulness practices to help clients form a secure sense of self and heal from trauma. When the weather is pleasant, I also offer walk and talk nature therapy, and I intend to begin offering therapeutic gardening as well. I’ve always been enthralled by the beauty of nature, especially when hiking, scuba diving, gardening, skiing, and being around animals, so I really enjoy getting to offer these experiential therapy opportunities.
I love this work. I love getting to support and celebrate clients as they explore and uncover next steps in their walk towards goals and healing. Ultimately, I believe this process helps clients uncover the person they were always created to be; a unique and treasured presence. I strive to provide a warm, safe, therapeutic space for clients to explore their current emotions and beliefs and I’d love to journey with you when you’re ready!
